In the "Fourteenth Five Year Plan" development plan, new requirements were put forward for the development of nursing in comprehensively promoting the construction of a healthy China, especially the rapid development of information technology created new conditions for nursing. Under the background of big data era, it has brought some impact on the traditional nursing management model, which means that we, as nurses, need to adapt to the changes in the environment, adjust the traditional nursing management model, and fully integrate information technology into nursing management, which is an urgent problem to be solved. Based on the current situation of the application of information technology in nursing management, this paper analyzes the prospects and challenges of the application of information technology in nursing management, aiming to provide some suggestions and ideas for the future development of nursing management for nursing workers in China.

Foreword

The "14th Five-Year Plan" development plan (2021-2025) [1] clearly pointed out that it is necessary to make full use of existing information technologies such as cloud computing, big data, Internet of Things, blockchain and mobile Internet, and combine the development of smart hospitals and "Internet + medical health" and other policy requirements, focus on strengthening the construction of nursing information. In the context of the current rapid development of big data, it has brought a certain impact on the current nursing management model [2], which means that as nurses, we need to adapt to changes in the environment, adjust the traditional nursing management model, and informatize The full integration of technology into care management is something we urgently need to address. This review will start with the current situation of the application of information technology in nursing management, analyze the application prospects and challenges of information technology in nursing management, and aim to understand the current status and development of information technology in nursing management for Chinese nursing workers. Provide some suggestions and ideas for the future development direction of nursing management in the author’s country.

Application status of information technology in nursing management

At present, various informatization means have been applied in various departments of the hospital and the daily nursing work management in the community. The emergence of information technology has changed the original operating room management model [3]. Through the use of medical inspection facilities, intelligent detection systems, and electronic network information systems, patient safety, pathological specimens, pressure sore information, operating room instruments, supplies, etc. Intelligent management frees nurses' hands, improves work efficiency, reduces work mistakes, and improves patient satisfaction and a sense of security. Some studies have also shown that [4] the use of information technology for dynamic monitoring of blood glucose is conducive to the regular integration and analysis of patients' blood glucose, and can effectively grasp the time when patients are prone to hypoglycemia. , and provide theoretical support for blood glucose management in the Department of Endocrinology. In addition, information technology has also been applied to community chronic disease nursing management. Community chronic disease information management has effectively improved the recovery effect of chronic disease patients and has far-reaching significance for the community nursing work of chronic disease patients [5]. Of course, it is far from enough to apply information technology in daily nursing work, and systematic information training should also be carried out for nurses. The research shows that [6] uses the access database to develop and design a nurse training management system to further standardize nurse training and management, realizes training and management informatization, can monitor three-level training management indicators in a timely manner, and supports nursing training decisions through systematic data analysis, which can effectively improve management efficiency.

Prospects for the application of information technology in nursing management

Based on information technology, comprehensively establish a nursing management information system for nursing quality and data: Researchers have made innovations in nursing quality management and the effect is quite remarkable. After Wei Xia [7] and others applied the mobile nursing quality management system based on iPad, they realized the informatization of the three-level quality control of nursing quality, and the inspection form was changed from on-site random inspection to problem tracking, standardizing the quality of nursing care. Link control shortened the nursing problem rectification cycle by 11 days, and at the same time improved the quality control efficiency of head nurses by about 16.2% to 34%, enhanced the emphasis of clinical nurses on nursing quality, and effectively improved nursing service behavior. Zhang Haiying [8] and others found that the incidence of adverse events in the intensive care unit decreased by 4% and the incidence of safety hazards decreased by 14% in the process of using the clinical quality evaluation method of the intensive care unit based on the APP intelligent quality management system. In terms of data collection and processing, Tianjin Children’s Hospital [9] used the BI information system to extract pediatric nursing sensitive information through 4 channels: BI data collection system, hospital personnel nursing management system, hospital infection control system, and “Questionnaire Star” survey tool. Index data; in addition, domestic applications in digital process management and real-time quality control mainly include timely extraction and integration of nursing quality control information, automatic collection of monitoring data, sharing of nursing quality control information in LAN, real-time quality control based on PDA and radio frequency identification technology, Health education informatization, etc. [10].

Although there are innovations, thoughts as to whether it is possible to integrate the two and rely on information technology in establishing a comprehensive nursing management information system for nursing quality and data in the future, which will then make it easier for nursing workers to evaluate and monitor nursing quality information, and also data information can be obtained in time to facilitate academic exchanges. The comprehensive nursing information management system is the only way the development of nursing information, which can effectively reduce the occurrence of nursing adverse events, improve work efficiency, and at the same time improve the quality of nursing services and the satisfaction rate of patients and their families has great significance.

Establish an information management system for nursing human resources supported by information technology: For nursing management, we can’t just stop at establishing a nursing management information system for nursing quality and data. In fact, the management of nursing staff is also very important, which is also an important factor for the sustainable development of nursing management. My belief as the author is that if scheduling, performance information, nurse information training, and assessment [2] can be integrated into an information management system with the support of information means, this will greatly improve the nursing department and the head nurse of the hospital. For the efficiency of nursing staff management, it is also possible to allocate personnel reasonably, maximize the role of each nursing staff, and at the same time organize performance information to treat all nursing staff fairly and equitably; in addition, each nursing staff can log in to the system Informatization training and assessment in the system can also be included in the performance, which can greatly motivate nursing staff to actively learn.

Challenges faced by information technology in nursing management

The nursing management team urgently needs compound talents: Compound talents refer to talents who have both nursing professional knowledge and skills and the ability to process nursing information. Nursing information ability [11] refers to the comprehensive ability of knowledge, attitude, and skills displayed by nurses engaged in clinical work in various nursing information activities. It is a necessary professional core ability and essential quality. Since the nursing industry is a data-intensive industry, a large amount of patient diagnosis and treatment data and data generated by the nursing management department are generated every day [12], so this has high requirements for nurses to process data. However, the information ability of nurses in my country still needs to be improved. Therefore, we urgently need such interdisciplinary talents to lead the development of the nursing management team.

Weak information awareness of the nursing management team: The reason why the development of information technology in nursing management lags behind [12] is that information awareness is relatively weak. For example, in practice, we saw that every nurse and teacher in the certain tertiary hospital is very serious and enthusiastic about their work, the patient management documents are written in great detail and organized in an orderly manner, but if these can be combined with information technology, it can not only save the working time of nurse teachers but also improve management efficiency, which is an urgent problem to be solved in the development of nursing management The problem. Moreover, the development of the current nursing career is not limited to the development of clinical work but also requires the support of scientific research. Now the requirements for the scientific research ability of nursing workers are getting higher and higher. The data obtained from clinical practice actually contains a wealth of knowledge. Potential value, if nurse teachers can cultivate strong information awareness and make full use of these data, it will be even more icing on the cake for nursing management.

The hospital nursing management information system lacks a unified standard: In the era of rapid development of information technology, it is very necessary to standardize the hospital nursing management system. For example, when we practiced in a certain tertiary hospital, we really felt the rigor and meticulousness of its leader at the nursing management level, but I found that there are also some problems. Each department has its own management mode. However, each department cannot share information and data, which is not conducive to communication between departments and the learning of management experience. Moreover, each hospital has its own nursing management information system, and the management specifications of each hospital's nursing management information system are also different. This has also caused some trouble in communication between industries. Information exchange, data sharing, and industry exchanges can provide the best treatment plan with the convenience of patients as much as possible, and at the same time make full use of medical resources, and will not cause ordinary people to crowd their heads in tertiary hospitals for medical treatment. Moreover, the lack of national unified and effective nursing management data collection and processing standards is one of the root causes of the difficulty in nursing management data integration. It is a major obstacle to the establishment of health records and regional electronic medical record health information platforms, which restricts nursing management in my country and the development of informatization.

Summary

The construction of nursing informatization is a long process. Nursing personnel still need to continue to work hard. The development of nursing informatization in my country is still in the initial stage of exploration. Nursing information management systems and talent information management systems will be a new direction for the development of nursing management. This has far-reaching significance for the innovation of my country's modern nursing management model, the optimization of the nursing process, the strengthening of nursing quality control, and the continuous and effective improvement of work efficiency, nursing management, and service quality.
